Sharing My Journey of Monvee.......

First of all, Monvee was created in 2007 to help Christians understand what gets in the way of their spiritual growth and how to overcome it. You can visit their website (www.monvee.com) for further information.  Our Church has given us all a challenge to commit ourselves and time to following our pathway to Christ.  We all learn differently from others and this concept helps determine how you, as an individual learns. When I did my assessment, I found out that I am a verbal learner, but enjoys reading.  I connect to God when I am outdoors, for example, being at the beach. Finally, my personality most fit Timothy.  What it says about me: I am talkative and sociable.  I tend to be critical, objective and logical.  I sometimes worry that I am too intense, but I am a steadfast, responsible and warm friend to others. All is super true..... Now, this is just a little bit about how Monvee works, but to me, it is awesome and the new innovative way to teach others how they can follow Christ and push all the stuff that stands in the way aside !!! So follow me on this journey for the next month.  I am reading a great book during this journey. It's called:  One.Life.Jesus Calls, We Follow by Scot McKnight.  It is an amazing read.  It talks about how being a Christian isn't about a set of rules, but following Christ and his plan for you. So many times, we get caught up in the "rules" instead of focusing on what Jesus truly wants for our life.  I am the worst at this.  I hope to change my thoughts and grow from this experience and I pray it touches someone else's life too.

I am done with the first week.  In that week, I have read a little of the book each day and I have meditated and learned the following Bible verses.

Psalm 46:10  Be still, and know that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.

Psalm 91:1-2  He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge & fortress.  My God in whom I trust.

2 Corithians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

These are all powerful verses to me.  To me it means chill out, and basically trust in God.  He is the most important thing in life and this world.  All the other stuff is just noise in our ears !!
